OUR STORY

Since its launch in 2018, Marvin Joles has grown Blacktop Banter from a one-man podcast into a leading voice in the asphalt industry. With more than 120 episodes recorded, thousands of listeners and millions of views across social media, Blacktop Banter has consistently covered the people, places, products and companies that make our industry unique and one of the most important trades in the world.

Today, Blacktop Banter provides far more than podcasts. Our comprehensive influencer marketing services include eye-catching video content, social media posts and podcast advertisements that help contractors and manufacturers reach their target audience and grow their influence online.

A steadfast dedication to building community and connection within the asphalt industry led to the creation of the Blacktop Banter Success Group (BBSG) in 2022. A cohort of contractors and asphalt business owners committed to sharing the tools, resources and knowledge which have helped them succeed, the BBSG has been invaluable for both beginners and veterans alike on their journey to success in the asphalt world.

In 2023 Blacktop Banter made its entrance into the world of professional motorsports with invitations to Elkhart Lake’s Road America to cover INDYCAR’s NXT Series and Mid-Ohio Sports Race Course to cover NASCAR’s Craftsman Truck Series. A natural extension of the brand with NASCAR and INDYCAR taking place on asphalt, Blacktop Banter is proud to sponsor drivers James Roe and Spencer Boyd and to have featured both, as well as driver Ben Rhodes and former driver and FitStop founder Hunter Smith, on the podcast. Additionally, Blacktop Banter is also proud to sponsor world champion street luge racers Ryan Farmer and Kolby Parks, as well as rising star Fred Laberge.
